Crocheting a puffy stitch blanket was so much fun and easy!

Crocheting a puffy stitch blanket was so much fun and easy!

This was a blanket I made for my 3 year old grandchild!

I used almost 4 of the Yarnspirations Bernat Baby Blanket skeins multi colored (I don't remember the color name), and 1/4 of a white skein also by Yarnspirations Bernat Baby Blanket! My granddaughter loves the blanket and sleeps with it every night!

Next time I make this blanket, I'll write down information on how many stitches and rows the blanket had. I do remember stitching more chains than the video suggested. If my memory serves me right, I believe I did 80 chain stitches? I could be wrong. You can make it how ever long you want it to be.

I followed the instructions from this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gi9Y025qTc  and used it as a guide for making this puffy stitch blanket!

The border I decided to do was a shell/scallop stitch and I followed the instructions from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3G2YLfyQGvs.

I loved how the blanket turned out.

Fyi:  I'm a beginner at crocheting, and if I can crochet this blanket anyone can!

Here are some photos of the crochet puffy blanket I made!

I've made 3 of these puffy blankets so far! I'll post the pictures of the other two on another post!

Up-Cycled Cans!

 Up-Cycled Cans!

I always buy many food items that come in a can. Instead of recycling these cans I decided to up-cycle them. I decided to get creative with these cans and painted them. They were nice, however somewhat boring, so I added more details. The possibilities are endless. I love how these turned out and I currently use them all to hold markers, coloring pencils, paint brushes, and crafting tools. I'm going to make some of the pencil cans to give as gifts to some of my teacher friends.

Items I used to make the #2 Pencil decorated can:

Large size can
#2 Pencils
School themed ribbon
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

I painted the other cans and just decorated them with what I had in my scrapbook stash.

White can with buttons I used:

Rust-oleum linen white chalk paint
Ribbon
Buttons
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Paper can I used:

Scrapbook paper
Mod Podge

Can with flowers I used :

Flower ribbon
Twine
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Art minds chalk paint color - Dune

Can with paintbrushes inside I used:

Fabric I had handy
Mod Podge
Twine
Pre-made twine flower I made
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
